Influence of an external magnetic field on the switching mode of a compact triggered vacuum gap

The possibility of excluding the binding of discharge cathode spots in a small-size pulse vacuum gap by placing the latter in a magnetic field is shown. The probable physical mechanism of this phenomenon is presented.
