The invention relates to a method for analyzing properties of ethylene cracking material based on a state space model. The method comprises the following steps of (1) defining each group in the cracking material into a state, so as to build a multi-dimensional linear state space, wherein the cracking material can be described by a vector in the space, and the content of each component in the cracking material is the coordinate of the component in the state space; (2) enabling basic oil product groups to form a sub-space of the linear state space, wherein each basic oil product group is a linear independent vector group in the state space of the cracking material. The method has the advantages that any cracking material is formed by mixing the basic oil groups according to certain ratio; the basic oil product groups and the mixing coefficient can be obtained according to a non-negative matrix factorization method by collecting the detailed grouping data of a large amount of cracking material samples in an offline way.
