The invention discloses a low temperature exhaust heat power generation working medium pump cavitation detecting device and method. The detecting device comprises an alternating current electric energy production detecting circuit for detecting an alternating current real-time electric quantity signal sent by a low temperature exhaust heat power generation device; output of the low temperature exhaust heat power generation is further connected with a direct current power source through an alternating current-to-direct current circuit, and a direct current electric quantity detecting circuit obtains electric quantity signals, converted into direct current, of the low temperature exhaust heat power generation in real time; the alternating current electric energy production detecting circuit and the direct current electric quantity detecting circuit are both connected with a microprocessor, and the microprocessor controls the running state of a motor, connected with a working medium pump, in the low temperature exhaust heat power generation device; a noise measurement sensor located on a working pump is connected with the input end of the microprocessor; and the microprocessor receives an external control command. By detecting noise numerical value of the working medium pump in work, in cooperation with the electricity generation state of the low temperature exhaust heat power generation system, the running state of the working medium pump is judged, and the running conditions, such as abnormity alarming, starting, stopping and the like, of the working medium pump are controlled.
