Erhöhung der Effektivität und Transparenz bei Leistungsuntersuchungen mit Simulationsverfahren

2010
Thanks to improved computer technology in combination with the findings from railway operations research, it has now become feasible to apply simulations to obtain appraisals of railway infrastructures. With a newly developed procedure called "PULEIV", it is now possible to make qualitative analytical evaluations - and, for the first time, quantitative analytical evaluations too - of the performance behaviour of major railway junctions and segments of networks. This software tool provides support in the dimensioning of complicated railway infrastructures. It immediately reveals how robust operational programmes really are, what reserves they have and how they interact with the railway installations. With PULEIV, it is also possible to divide the junction infrastructure into segments (sometimes called "interlocking route junctions" or "IRJs") and to determine which of these are critical in causing traffic impediments. Performance analyses can also be simplified to meet the needs of specific users and presented to them transparently.
