Improving Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination at an Academic Center through Provider Education and Utilization of Electronic Health Record Tools

Introduction: Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the most common sexually transmitted infection worldwide. Completion of the HPV vaccine series is important in the primary prevention of cervical cancer. HPV vaccination rates remain significantly lower than those for other vaccines recommended for children ages 11–12 years.
