El campo colombiano, una economía en el olvido

Colombia, an agricultural country by vocation, shows today the harsh situation that this economic and social sector of the nation is going through; observing how the budget cuts, the technological lag, the adoption of policies aimed at strengthening the livestock and agroindustrial latifundia, the conflict between use and vocation of the soil as well as the backwardness in vital infrastructure such as roads, collection centers, lack of technical assistance and limited access to bank loans in conjunction with the weak institutional framework; they have led this part of the Colombian population to go through situations that leave them at a disadvantage with the other productive sectors of the country channeled to a social deterioration of the peasant economy. This article proposes to focus on the main factors affecting the Colombian agrarian sector, with special emphasis on the relationship of the agrarian problem with social conflict; so it is oriented to show certain aspects for reflection, analysis and debate in search of the construction of a proposal that responds to the contradictions arising from the agrarian problem, outlining some alternatives outlined by the new government for the improvement of the problem lives the field in Colombia, focused on the sustainable development goals that were developed at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in 2012.
