Application of laparoscopy in bowel injury

Abdominal trauma patients with bowel injury are not available of clinical and radiologic signs for early diagnosis,leading to delayed operation and high mortality. With the development of laparoscopic technique,its application range in trauma becomes wider and wider. However,the missed diagnosis of bowel injury is the main concern of trauma surgeon in using laparoscopy in abdominal trauma patients. In this paper,the present situation and existing problems of the application of laparoscopic technique in abdominal trauma with bowel injury were discussed. The standard and systemic laparoscopic exploration process was also proposed to improve the accuracy rate of bowel injury diagnosis.
