Influence of Different Cold Storage Techniques on Quality of Dutch Cucumber

Through four kinds of storage techniques,the quality of Dutch cucumber in storage was studied,and the changes in the weight loss,soluble solid content,firmness and appearance of the cucumber during storage were emphatically observed.The results indicated that the quality of the Dutch cucumber chilled after pre-cooling was similar to that of the cucumber chilled after preheating,while their quality was markedly better than that of the cucumber chilled directly after harvest.The quality of Dutch cucumber stored at room-temperature was the worst.The quality of Dutch cucumbers with preservative film excelled that of those without it by the same technique.Therefore it is a good fresh-keeping way to precool or preheat the Dutch cucumbers,then pack them with preservative film,and finally store them at low temperature.
