A vehicle includes a plurality of sensors that are configured to detect objects in a plurality of zones adjacent the vehicle, and a controller. The controller is programmed to, in response to that the vehicle approaches a path that defines a next change of direction of a predefined navigation route, and that a vehicle in a predefined subset of the zones is selected so that they are of the on the same side vehicle, such as is a turn direction of, is detected to produce a collision alarm.
