Basic geologic and hydrologic information, Bradshaw Mountains, Yavapai County, Arizona
1994
This report is the result of a preliminary environmental assessment of the impact of past mining activities on water quality in the Bradshaw Mountains area. The assessment in Phase 1 of a multiphase project. The ultimate goals of the project are: 1) to focus on a relatively small portion of the Bradshaw Mountains for further characterization; (2) to mitigate water quality problems at the selected site; and (3) to develop general guidelines for containment and/or abatement of mining-related water contamination problems. Phase 1 was executed by the Arizona Geological Survey in cooperation with the Arizona State Land Department and under contract with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. Phase 1 involved the collection, review and evaluation of existing geologic, hydrologic and mining information on the Bradshaw Mountains area (see page 2 for study area location). The results of Phase 1 include: and overview of the data which were readily available; a general sense of where the most suitable areas for further study are; and what the largest data gaps are.
