Seismic Prediction Technology of Favorable CBM Zones

In order to achieve the specific goal of using seismic data to predict favorable CBM (coalbed methane) zones, we used precise inversion to control key geological parameters of CBM occurrence as a breakthrough point, systematically researched the theory and technologies for seismic data acquisition, processing, interpretation and inversion of CBM reservoirs, and used these technologies to obtain high-precision inversion results of the distribution, thickness, internal structure, roof and floor, density, elastic modulus, shear modulus and fracture development of coal seams, and finally realized the prediction of favorable CBM zones by seismic data and comprehensive analysis of these inversion results.
