Type IV Pilus-Dependent Motility and Its Possible Role in Bacterial Pathogenesis

Type IV pili (TFP) are very unique appendages on the bacterial surface. They are not only required for microbial adherence but also involved in bacterial movement, such as social gliding motility in Myxococcus xanthus and twitching motility in Pseudomonas and Neisseria species ([33][1]). How
