Comprehensive treatment of patients with fatal diseases, with terminal conditions, or with great hindrance in their life quality is the main purpose of present day medicine; it is also a priority in the strategy to attain health equity. This goal meets the proper approach through palliative care even as futile actions are avoided. The recommendations of the Instituto Nacional de Pediatria (National Institute of Pediatrics) are outlined, based on the children’s best interest and life quality.
