Estimation of yield losses in tomato and integrated management of root-knot nematode

The root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita, is the major nematode pest affecting tomato crop and is wide spread throughout out India. Bhatti and Jain (1) and Reddy (5) reported 46.2 and 39.5% avoidable losses in yield respectively in tomato under field condition. Jain and Bhatti (2) demonstrated that carbofuran @ 2 g a.i./m reduced the nematode population and increased the yield.
