Finding value in in silico biology

Abstract Interest in adopting biological simulation and modeling in the pharmaceutical industry is high, but concerns remain over how soon the technology will pay off. Through a top-down approach to modeling the biology relevant to a disease, Entelos has been able to provide significant value for its research partners. The key to this value comes from understanding clinical outcomes in discovery or development well before any human trial occurs. This knowledge can then be applied to improve research strategy and decision-making throughout the pipeline. Applications include target validation and prioritization, candidate prioritization, biomarker identification and pre-clinical and clinical study optimization.
