An efficient spark chamber detector for annihilation radiation

1973
Describes a significant development of the gamma -ray detecting spark chamber. The new chamber has plates made of lead foil built into a special laminate to give rigidity but negligible superfluous mass. Efficiency has been gained over previous designs by a factor of 3. The mode of operation should lead to an improvement in the accuracy with which the sparks locate the position of the incident gamma -ray.
