Structure De L'Acide Zanhagenique, Triterpenoide Nouveau Isole De Zanha Africana

The root's bark saponin of Zanha africana yields on hydrolysis medicagenic acid, zanhic acid and a novel triterpene, for which we propose the name: zanhagenic acid. The structure of this acid determinated using spectral means including 2D NMR is: 2β, 3β, 16 α-trihydroxyolean, 13 (18)-ene, 23, 28-dioic.
