Anodic behaviour of nickel in in solutions of sulphuric, formic, acetic, oxalic and citric acids

2005
The work presents the anodic potentiostatic polarisation curves of the polycrystalline nickel, of electrolytic purity, in IN deaerated solutions of the organic acids: formic, oxalic, acetic and citric comparative with IN H 2 SO 4 . All curves show the active-passive transition, characterised by an evident current maximum, but in different parameters. The passive critical current density decreases in the acid solution order: sulphuric>formic >oxalic acetic>citric. The extent of the passive/active transition domain increases in the following order: citricoxalic
