Concentration dependence of the benzene triplet yield in solution

1972
Abstract The triplet yield of benzene has been measured as a function of concentration in cyclohexane at 25°C. The high triplet yield from pure liquid (0.56) compared to dilute solution (0.23) is assigned to greater participation of intersystem crossing from the singlet excimer. The intrinsic yield of triplet from excimer is calculated as ⩾0.71.
