Música y currículo: análisis comparativo de los lineamientos curriculares de la Educación Básica en España y Colombia Music and curriculum: Comparative analysis of basic education curricula lineaments in Spain and Colombia

2006
Compulsory education for children from five to fifteen years old was rased in the Colombian Constitution of 1991. It was considered the creation of level “Zero” as an alternative grade for pre-school education. Due to the importance of musical development at this age, it is necessary to carry out an analysis of the musical curriculum content, presented by Colombian Ministry of Education in 2000. As Spain and Catalonia have developed specific proposals in the pedagogical and musical processes, this research seeks to analyse the differences among the components of the basic curricula drawn up by Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, the Catalan Children’s Education one, and the Colombian one for Artistic Education. The aim of this survey is to improve the Colombian curriculum directions for music education at first level of basic studies.
