1–3 MeV alpha and triton stopping powers in LiF and Li alloys

Abstract The energy dependence of stopping powers for 1–2 MeV α particles and 1–2.7 MeV tritons was determined by using the 6 Li( n , α) T reaction in LiF and several Li alloys. The results are analysed to obtain both absolute stopping powers and the effective charge of He projectiles. These values are compared to the generalized ZBL predictions, and to new fully analytic calculations for one-and two-electron ions/atoms.
