Cooking apparatus and method for operating a cooking appliance

The cooking appliance comprises a hob with a cooker and a heating device for heating a cooking region. There are provided a sensor device for detecting a ligand directly dependent on temperatures of the cooking region characteristic quantity, and a control device is provided. The control means is adapted and suitable to control the heating means in dependence on the detected size of the sensor device. The sensor device is associated with a sensor module for detecting a ligand indirectly dependent on temperatures of the cooking region size.
