Blind interference alignment based comp scheme in downlink MIMO system

2014
In this paper, we consider a blind interference alignment (BIA) based coordinated multi-point transmission and reception (CoMP) scheme in downlink MIMO system. The proposed scheme is able to mitigate the inter-channel interference (ICI) from adjacent cell effectively without feedback channel state information (CSI) to the base stations. The transmitter achieves blind interference alignment among two adjacent base stations by adopting the pre-determined transmission pattern. Since the interference is aligned to the same subspace, the receiver is able to mitigate the interference by discarding the interference subspace and detect the desired signal by the corresponding detection algorithms. On the other hand, the blind interference alignment based transmission is more energy efficient than the conventional transmission. Our results show that the proposed BIA-based CoMP scheme outperforms the traditional signal-to-leakage-and-noise ratio (SLNR) based CoMP scheme under high SNR region with the same spectrum efficiency. Furthermore, the proposed BIA-based CoMP schem shows a better performance of energy efficiency than the SLNR-based CoMP scheme.
