Effects of Dihydromyricetin on the Serum and Liver Antioxidative Activities in Initial Stage of Rat Chemical Hepato-carcinogenesis

2009
Objective:To study effect from extract of dihydromyricetin on serum and liver antioxidative activities and r-glutamine trans-peptidase(r-GT)activity in initial stage of rat chemical hepato-carcinogenesis and possible mechanism of its anti-carcinogenesis.Methods:Hepatic preneoplastic lesions in rats were induced by modified SOh-farber protocol. The activities of serum superoxide dismutase(SOD),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-PX),gluta-thione-S-transferase(GSH-ST),catalase(CAT),r-glutamine transpeptidase(r-GT)and the content of malondialdehyde(MDA)were measured with colorimetric method in the rats administered with dihydromyricetin for 6 weeks. Results:The activities of serum and liver SOD,GSH-PX,GST,CAT were increased, decreasing the content of MDA and r-GT activity of initial stage of rat chemical hepato-carcinogenesis marker were inhibited after administrated dihydromyricetin. Conclusion:Dihydromyricetin have anti-oxdation activities and inhibited in initial stage marker of rat chemical hepato-carcinogenesis effects, and it may be one of the anti-carcinogenic mechanisms of dihydromyricetin.
