The g-factor of the 87 keV excited state in 155Gd

Abstract The g -factor of the 87 keV state in 155 Gd was measured by observation of the perturbation of the angular correlation in an external magnetic field in melted metallic sources, using both integral and differential techniques. The results are in good agreement with the value obtained indirectly from the magnetic hfs-coupling in an aqueous source. The structure of the 87 keV level is discussed on the basis of the average value g = −0.376 ± 0.026.
