Monte Carlo Simulation of Lignin Pyrolysis: Sensitivity to Kinetic Parameters
1988
The sensitivity of the Monte Carlo simulation of Kraft lignin pyrolysis to one of the model compound rate constants used therein was investigated. Experimental data and an a priori Monte Carlo simulation were compared by summarizing their results into sets of rate constant distributions, obtained by fitting the experimental and simulated data to a simple kinetic scheme. For the limited number of model compound rate constants investigated, the Monte Carlo simulation displayed very little sensitivity towards primary product formation, as its summarizing rate constant distributions were narrow and peaked.
