Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering Using the "Hottest" Hot Spots Only

We report SERS of single molecules residing exclusively in the hottest hot spots of silver or gold nanoaggregates or on a fractal surface of those metals and discuss the ultimate spectroscopic potential of such experiments.
