Retrograde intubation via lacrimal sac to seek the lacerted ends and anastomosis in lacrimal canaliculi laceration

2004
Objective To evalute the effect of retrograde intubation via lacrimal sac to seek the lacerted ends and anastomosis in lacrimal canaliculi division. Methods 104 inpatients (104 eyes) with the canalicular laceration were treated by retrograde intubation through an icision over lacrimal sac after failed by routine methods, the nasal end is found and anastomosis is opened. The cases were followed-up and statistically analysed postoperativeely. Results All the 104 cases were followed up from 3 months to 5 year.96 cases(92.30%)obtained anatomical success. Conclusion Retrograde intubation via lacrimal sac can easily found the lacerted ends, and then effectively achieve anastomosis.
