Iberolacerta cyreni

Iberolacerta cyreni, Cyren’s rock lizard, is a species of lizard in the family Lacertidae. The species is endemic to central Spain. The specific name, cyreni, is in honor of Swedish herpetologist Carl August Otto Cyrén. I. cyreni measures up to 8 cm (3.1 in) snout-to-vent, 24 cm (9.4 in) including the tail. The diet of I. cyreni is composed mainly of invertebrates such as insects or spiders. The natural habitats of I. cyreni are temperate forests, temperate shrubland, temperate grassland, rocky areas, and plantations . I. cyreni is threatened by habitat loss. There are two subspecies of I. cyreni which are recognized as being valid, including the nominotypical subspecies. Nota bene: A trinomial authority in parentheses indicates that the subspecies was originally described in a genus other than Iberolacerta.
