Afrixalus

Afrixalus (commonly known as the banana frogs, spiny reed frog, cat's eye reed frogs, or leaf-folding frogs, or) is a genus of frog in the family Hyperoliidae. They occur in the Subsaharan Africa. They lay their eggs in vegetation above water, often folding leaves around the eggs for protection—hence the common name 'leaf-folding frogs'. As of mid-2017, the Amphibian Species of the World lists 33 species: The AmphibiaWeb lists 31 species. It does not include Afrixalus 'quadrivittatus', does not recognize Afrixalus brachycnemis and Afrixalus delicatus as full species, while it lists Afrixalus septentrionalis, which is included in Afrixalus stuhlmanni in the Amphibian Species of the World.
