Coprophanaeus ensifer

Coprophanaeus ensifer is a species of beetles belonging to the family Scarabaeidae. Coprophanaeus ensifer can reach a length of about 35–56 millimetres (1.4–2.2 in). This large-sized necrophagous beetle has a horn on the pronotum that is of similar size in males and females. The body colour is usually dark green. This species can be found in Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay. It prefers tropical dry forests and savannas at elevations of about 0–780 metres (0–2,559 ft) above sea level.
