Erysipelotrichia

The Erysipelotrichia are a subclass of bacteria of the phylum Firmicutes. Species of this subclass are known to be common in the gut microbiome, as they have been isolated from swine manure and increase in composition of the mouse gut microbiome for mice switched to diets high in fat. The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LSPN) and the phylogeny is based on 16S rRNA-based LTP release 111 by 'The All-Species Living Tree' Project.
