Hoplophorus

Hoplophorus was an extinct genus of glyptodont, a family of mammals related to armadillo. The only known species was H. euphractus, found in Pleistocene deposits in Piauí, and Minas Gerais, in Brazil. The species is possibly synonymous with Glyptodon euphractus.
