The double-lined fusilier (Pterocaesio digramma) is a fusilier of the genus Pterocaesio. Also known as the banana fish, it is the prefectural fish of Okinawa, Japan, where it is known as gurukun (グルクン) in Okinawan and takasago (タカサゴ, 高砂) in Japanese. Double-lined fusiliers are widespread in the Western Pacific, ranging from Indonesia to Western Australia, New Caledonia and northwards to Japan. They are found in coastal areas, primarily around coral reefs. Gurukun are widely eaten in Okinawan cuisine, mostly commonly served deep-fried as kara-age.
