Pachyballus

Pachyballus is a spider genus of the Salticidae family (jumping spiders). While almost all of the six described species are found in Africa and nearby regions, one species is endemic to New Caledonia. Pachyballus rotundus was transferred to its own genus Planiemen in 2007. The genus name is derived from Ancient Greek pachys 'thick' and the salticid genus Ballus. As of July 2017, the World Spider Catalog lists the following species in the genus:
