The understandings of Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) expert team on preventing and treating severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) were introduced in this article.SARS belongs to epidemic febrile disease and the cause is wind warm pathogen or epidemic pathogenic factor. The diseased site is mainly in the lung and the basic pathogenetic features are obstruction of pulmonary vessels, impairment of qi and yin ,with atrophy of pulmonary resource dampness, blood stasis in more severe cases, resulting in dangerous symptoms such as choking sensation in chest, dyspnea and prostration.Six regimens of treatment according to different symptoms were set out.Based on the effectiveness of TCM in treating virus diseases and the experience of TCM in treating SARS, the advantages of integrating Chinese and Western medicine were put forward, such as blocking SARS progress, alleviating symptoms, reducing dosage of glucocorticoid and antibiotics, avoiding sequela. Finally, the progress of 3 TCM programs on preventing and treating SARS was introduced and the TCM oriented perspective hot point, pulmonary fibrosis, was discussed.
D iabetes is the most p revalent and serious metabolic disease, and the number of diabetic patients worldwide is increasing. The reduction of insulin biosynthes is in pancreaticβ2cells is closely associated with the onset and p ro2 gression of diabetes, therefore, it is important to search for ways to induce insulin2p roducing cells in non2β2cells. In the p resent study, it has been reported that activin A and a basic fibroblast growth factor 2 ( FGF2) , can synergistical2 ly increase the insulin mRNA level, in both mouse E14 striatal p rimary cell cultures and the hippocampal neuronal cell line HT221 Activin A and FGF2 can jointly stimulate the nuclear translocation of Smad3 and specifically activate ERK1 /21 It is interesting to note that a specific inhibitor forMEK, U0126, can efficiently block the induction of an insulin p romoter activity by activin A and FGF21 This indicates that activin A collaborates with FGF2, giving a signal to induce the insulin gene through selective activation of the ERK2type MAP kinase and Smad3 in mouse striatal and HT22 cells. These data suggest that activin A may act in concert with FGF2 for the development of insulin 2positive neurons. Objective By analyzing children with asthma and healthy children with helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection rate of14 C and the serum levels of interleukin-1b(IL-1b) analysis of the content to explore the relationship between the mechanism of asthma in children infected with Hp and to find a better method for prevention of asthma in children. Methods Stratified sampling randomly from August 2010 to August 2012 in our hospital treatment of 50 cases of children with asthma(asthma group) and 50 cases of children with asthma Hp infection(Hp infection normal group) and 50 cases of children with asthma and Hp infection(Hp infection+asthma group) and 50 cases health children(normal group)as the subjects. Used14 C urea breath detector to detect Hp infection positive rate, ELISA kits in plasma interleukin 1b(IL-1 b) content. Results(1)14C urea breath test positive rate of asthma children was 34.0%(asthma group) and 50.0%(Hp infection +asthma group), which was significantly greater than healthy controls 4.0% of the children,(P0.05),and asthma and Hp infection was linear correlation(R=0.30, P0.05);(2) Hp strains infection after14 C urea breath test positive rate was significantly higher than those uninfected children(P0.05), and asthma and Hp positive probability of infection showed positive linear relationship(R=0.47, P0.05).(3) The four groups of children with IL-1b could meet the normal distribution and the concentration of IL-1b for asthma children was(3.68±0.12) ng/m L, lower than that in the healthy control children(0.61±0.04) ng/m L. Comparison between groups had statistical significance(P0.05); Hp infection+concentration of IL-1b for children asthma group was(4.77 ±0.09) ng/m L, significantly higher than that of asthma group children(3.68±0.12) ng/m L. The comparison between the two groups had obvious difference(P0.05). Conclusion Helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection and the serum levels of interleukin-1b(IL-1b) in children with asthma and without asthma have significantly different content, which provides the basis for the diagnosis of children with asthma monitoring, and has great application value in the treatment of disease of asthmatic children.
Objective:To analyze the reasons and solutions for the ineffectiveness of single integral HIFU ablation in vitro for uterine fibroids.Methods:5 cases of uterine fibroids treated by single integral HIFU ablation with poor outcome and subsequently treated by surgeries were analyzed retrospectively with regards to the HIFU treatment information, operative findings and post operational pathology. And the related literatures were reviewed. Results:In this group, the average power was 362W-400W,the radiation time was 998s-2947s,the treatment dose was 398500.0J-1178800.0J,and the treatment intensity was 789s/h-1091s/h;11-16 months after HIFU,the symptom improvement was not obvious,MRI or US suggested that the tumor volume had not significantly decreased or increased slightly, the interval between HIFU treatment and surgery were 11-22 months;4 patients had hysteromyomectomy and 1 had panhysterectomy.During operation, the uterine serosa were all smooth, had no adhesion with adjacent organs or peritoneum,1/2-4/5 of the center area of the fibroids under radiation was gray caseous necrosis or emulsion necrosis,1/5 of the tumor surface can see typical pink spiral smooth muscle tissue structure with soft texture, and part with cystic degeneration;the appearance of the serosa, myometrium and endometrium of the uterus were normal;postoperative pathologic examinations showed the tumor tissue was smooth muscle tissue or had hyaline degeneration, with no malignant tissues. Conclusion:The location of the fibroids, rich blood supply and the treatment dose are important factors that affect the efficacy of HIFU,individualized treatment is the principle of success,CDFI has instructive significance.
Objective To investigate whether early intervention is safe and may benefit to unstable angina patients, who are at risk of major events.MethodsA randomized,open-lable,parallel group trial was conducted.A total of 84 eligible patients with unstable angina were enrolled. They were randomized either to xuezhikan or simvastatin treatment(xuezhikan group,n=43 and simvastatin group,n=41).Lipid levels were determined immediately after admission and 3,6 and 12 months later.During the following-up,all adverse events and cardiovascular events were recorded. There were no significant differences in side effects and abnormal laboratory references between two groups.ResultsLevels of LDL-C and TC reduced significantly in the both of groups. There are similar rates of AMI,re-hospitalization,and revascularization in both groups.ConclusionThe results suggest that early intervention with the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor to UA is feasible and safe.
