Aldehydes and imines can efficiently undergo nucleophilic addition reaction with allyltributylstannane in the presence of phosphomolybdic acid supported on silica (PMA/SiO 2 ) under solvent free-conditions to form the corresponding homoallyl alcohols and amines respectively at room temperature in excellent yields. The catalyst can be easily recovered and re-used.Key words: homoallyl alcohol, homoallyl amine, phosphomolybdic acid, heterogeneous catalyst, allyltributylstannane, solvent-free conditions.
Sulfonic acid functionalized silica catalyzed the three-component reaction of aromatic amines, α,β-unsaturated aldehydes and β-keto esters forming the corresponding 1,4-dihydropyridines in short reaction times and in high yields.

Chemical investigation of Clerodendrum indicum has resulted in the isolation of clerodendrone, a new member of hydroquinone diterpenoids (which are rare in the investigated family, Verbenaceae). The compound was characterised from its spectral (1D and 2D NMR) data and chemical reactions and was found to contain an uncommon structural pattern with beta-methyl dihydrofuran moiety.
