Summary form only given, as follows. The systems with compression of magnetized heated plasma (MAGO/MTF) are promising regarding the achievement of the thermonuclear fusion threshold. A version of this system has been realized in VNIIEF where a dense high temperature DT-plasma was obtained with the lifetime of some microseconds, being a source of high-power neutrons and X-ray pulses. The research method of spatial-temporal parameters in the soft X-ray generation plasma region, which is formed in the discharging camera of the MAGO-system, has been developed for diagnostics. The method is based on the soft X-ray plasma image formation with the help of a pinhole camera and its consequent conversion to an optical image. Optical plasma image registration is made with the use of an electron optical multi-frame recording system. For the first time in the conditions of the MAGO explosive experiments the two-dimensional plasma image for three sequential intervals of discharge, corresponding to maximum soft X-rays yield was obtained. The position, shape and typical sizes of the plasma region are determined. The evolution of the described method for plasma parameters research in MAGO/MTF experiments is seemed to be very perspective.

Numerical analysis of the underground coal gasification syngas composition in dependence to supplied oxidizer properties

A numerical model which describes coal underground gasification heat and mass transfer processes was formulated. Numerical studies let to define a generated gases composition in dependence to gasification products temperature and pressure, and forced in heated gas composition. A combustible gas discharge composition versus forced in oxidizer components concentration functional connections are obtained, where dry air, different proportion mixture of oxygen, nitrogen and water vapor are forced in oxidizer components. It is found that a low-temperature gasification regime is occurred if an oxidizer contains no more than 15% of oxygen. If oxygen concentration in an oxidizer is more than 15% a high-temperature gasification regime is occurred, and a combustible gas discharge is increased.

Influence of thermal and mass transfer, the properties of steam-oxygen oxidizer and structure of coke on the composition of the generating synthesis-gas at the gasification of fuel

A mathematical model of the solid fuel conversion process which is used to analyze the synthesis-gas that is the result of coke gasification is proposed. During the conversation of coke in an environment of high-temperature water vapor, synthesis-gas consisting of hydrogen, oxide and carbon dioxide is obtained. That is shown in the article. Hydrogen in the produced gas at any oxidizer temperatures is always over 50% of total volume. The ratio of oxide and carbon dioxide depends on the temperature of the oxidant. The lower the oxidant temperature, the greater the proportion of carbon monoxide. It is established that it is economically more advantageous to use water vapor with the addition of oxygen as an oxidizer in the gasification of fuel. With the use of such an oxidizer, synthesis-gas consisting of 100% of the combustion gas is obtained. The temperature of the steam-oxygen oxidant after the fuel has ignited can be significantly reduced practically before the beginning of the process of vapor condensation. The synthesis-gas produced in this gasification process will contain in volume proportions about 25% hydrogen and 75% carbon monoxide.

X-ray diagnostics of partially transparent Fe and Al plasmas for inverted corona targets

Spectrum and energy measurements of X-ray radiation emitted by partially transparent Fe and Al plasmas have been carried out for thin-layered inverted-corona targets on the ISKRA-5 laser facility. The targets were plastic spherical (2-mm diam) shells of 4.6 mm thickness having 0.25 mm Fe or 0.65 mm Al thin inner coatings. The energy radiated in He α and Ly α resonance lines of Fe and Al ions was measured as well. Experimental data and results of numerical calculations are compared. Measured laser light to X-ray conversion coefficient has been found to be essentially low, then calculated one for both Fe and Al coated targets. Possible reasons for this discrepancy are discussed.

Influence of Radiative and Combined Heat Transfer on the Spread of Ground Fire

Ignition and burning of the combustible materials in a forest are discussed. The ignition is initiated by a plane fire source and then the physical processes occurring as a result of propagation of a plane combustion wave are investigated. Based on numerical calculations, the velocities of the propagation of the ground forest-fire front depending on the moisture content and heat and mass transfer of the falling pine needles with the environment are found. The gas composition above the fire source is also investigated. The emission coefficients under various extemal conditions and moisture content levels in the layer of pine needles are also determined. The limiting conditions for the propagation of the ground fire as a function of the moisture content in the layer of needles and the heat transfer coefficient are obtained.
