Debate over how to achieve racial parity or representation in public bureaucracies continues. Use of numerical goals and timetables for the purpose of taking affirmative action to achieve a representative bureaucracy reflective of Blacks, other minorities, and women have prompted charges of reverse discrimination against Anglo males. Affirmative action is seen by some as undermining merit principles, while others maintain that affirmative action enhances the merit system.
Prothrombin Time (PT) could be monitored between 36-72 hours postexposure, however, the information on established PT times is not available for most exotic pets. References 1. Equine platelet β tropomyosin (247 residues), like rabbit skeletal muscle α tropomyosin (284 residues) has a repeating pattern of amino acid residues characterisitic of a coiled‐coil structure. When compared with the muscle protein, it is extended by 5 residues at the NH 2 ‐terminus and possesses two 21 residue deletions (positions 23–43 and 60–80 of the muscle sequence). The two proteins are highly conserved from residues 81–260, but are significantly different at their COOH‐termini (residues 261–284). These differences in platelet tropomyosin can be correlated with its diminshed head‐to‐tail polymerization, a weaker interaction with F‐actin and a reduced affinity for muscle troponin and the T1 fragment of troponin‐T.

An ESF-generating factor (EGF), erythropoietin (ESF) and a mixture of both were incubated with dithiothreitol (DTT, a protective reagent for sulfhydryl groups). Ten μM DTT completely prevented the production of 0.26 ± 0.01 IU of ESF by EGF but did not inactivate ESF. DTT was used to indicate the relative amounts of EGF and ESF activity in a mixture of both.
