Fast implementation of LCMV anti-jamming algorithm for GPS navigation

LCMV algorithm is a common-used anti-jamming method for GPS navigation. It requires the complex computation of matrix inversion. In this paper, an improved method for complex matrix inversion based on Gaussian elimination is given. The combination of C and assembly language program design process of improved algorithm based on Digital Signal Processor hardware platform is developed. Experimental results show that the time consumption of improved complex matrix inversion method based on Gaussian elimination is the least, compared to the method of the original complex inversion based on Gaussian elimination and the method of the traditional direct matrix inversion.

Transparent FSS on Glass Window for Signal Selection of 5G Millimeter-Wave Communication

A transparent frequency selective surface (FSS) on a glass window is proposed for signal selectivity of 5G millimeter-wave communication, based on a transparent and low loss material cyclic olefin copolymer (COC). The proposed FSS based on dual-loop units is designed on both sides of COC, which helps to realize the band-pass filtering effect under both normal and oblique-incident conditions in the desired frequency range from 27.5 to 29.5 GHz. The metal-meshed technology is employed to enhance the light transmission of the circuits, and the measured performances with traditional glass show that our proposed concepts can be a potential solution for signal filtering at millimeter wave on glass windows.

Ultrafast optical modulators based on atomically-thin transition-metal dichalcogenides (Conference Presentation)

Recently, ultrafast optical modulators (OMs) based on atomic transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) film have been intensively explored. Benefited from their remarkable nonlinear saturable absorption properties, TMDs based OMs could be employed as critical devices for pulsed lasers systems to transit continuous wave into pulse trains in laser cavity. Herein, the few-layer TMDs films were grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method in possession of uniform thickness, large areas and high crystal quality. Then two types TMDs based OMs were fabricated by integrating single TMDs film or van der waals heterostructures (VdWHs) on the target substrates. As for VdWHs based OMs, different few-layer TMDs films were vertically stacked in turns on the target substrates to form heterointerfaces, which has been demonstrated with ultrafast carrier relaxation time between neighbor layers recently and is favor for ultrafast pulse generation. In our experiments, the nonlinear optical properties of two types TMDs based OMs were systematically investigated by measuring their nonlinear saturable absorption curves and further compared by embedded them into same fiber laser systems. The results indicate that the VdWHs based OMs owns more excellent nonlinear optical properties (such as larger modulation depth, smaller saturable intensity) and offers a feasible strategy to engineer desired ultrafast photonics devices by modifying the structure of VdWHs.

Theoretical analysis for dynamic model of U-shaped electrothermal microactuator based on Chebyshev spectral method

Abstract This paper presents a largely and accurate analysis for dynamic model of U-shaped actuator that considers the material parameters dependent on temperature. The electro-thermal analysis for temperature distribution and thermo-mechanical analysis for deflection is carried out. The electro-thermal dynamic behaviour is described by piecewise one-dimensional (1D) heat transfer partial differential equations (PDE) for each beam of U-shaped actuator. A combination of Chebyshev spectral method for space domain and Euler forward difference method for time domain is used to solve these equations. The convergence test is first done to ensure the result convinced.

Efficient Cyan Delayed Fluorescence Luminogen as Sensitizing Host for OLEDs with High Efficiencies and Extremely Low Roll‐Offs

Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) using thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials to sensitizing conventional fluorescence dopants (CFDs) have attracted intensive research interest due to the extraordinary device performances. Herein, a cyan luminogen (TCz-BP-SFAC) with TADF and aggregation-enhanced emission (AEE) character is developed as a sensitizing host for CFDs. TCz-BP-SFAC owns excellent thermal and electrochemical stabilities, prefers horizontal dipole orientation and demonstrates violent delayed fluorescence with high photoluminescence quantum yields in neat and doped films. It exhibits preeminent electroluminescence (EL) performances with maximum external quantum efficiencies (ηext s) of 25.1% and 30.0% and very low efficiency roll-offs. TCz-BP-SFAC also performs well as a sensitizing host for CFDs of different colors. When TCz-BP-SFAC sensitizing green emitter TTPA and orange emitter TBRB, the devices achieve high ηext s of 16.9% and 17.1% as well as very low efficiency roll-offs of 2.4% and 1.2%, respectively. Moreover, TCz-BP-SFAC can serve as a sensitizing host for two-color all-fluorescence white OLEDs, resulting in high ηext s of ∼18% and very low efficiency roll-offs of ∼5%. The outstanding EL performances predict the great potential of TCz-BP-SFAC as emitter and host in practical display and lighting devices.

Decomposition of a 1,3,5-Triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene Crystal at Decomposition Temperature Coupled with Different Pressures: An ab Initio Molecular Dynamics Study

We performed ab initio molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the initiation mechanisms and subsequent decompositions of a 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (TATB) crystal at initial decomposition temperature coupled with different pressures. The initial decomposition step of TATB was found to be the unimolecular intramolecular hydrogen transfer; moreover, this initiation mechanism is independent of the variation of the pressure. However, the intramolecular hydrogen transfer becomes easier to occur when the pressure increases from 1 to 3 GPa and from 4 to 5 GPa, while the situation is just the opposite with the increment of pressure from 3 to 4 GPa and from 5 to 20 GPa. The pressure accelerates subsequent decomposition of TATB with the increase of pressure from 1 to 3 GPa and from 4 to 5 GPa, while it would decelerate the decomposition when the pressure increases from 3 to 4 GPa and from 5 to 20 GPa. The deceleration of the pressure on the decomposition of TATB may be caused by inhibiting initiation decomposition. Our study may provide new insight into understanding of the initiation mechanisms and decomposition reactions of nitro explosives under decomposition temperature coupled with different pressures in atomic detail.

Optical Measurement of the Dynamic Response of an Electrothermal Microactuator

In order to study the dynamic characteristic of an electrothermal actuator, a high-speed camera-based optical measurement system is first established. Then, a combination of the background differencing and canny edge detection algorithm is utilized to deal with the images from the measurement system above. Hence, the picture that represents the starting point of the motion of the actuator is distinguished between these pictures and the transient displacement can also be calculated. The time that the actuator reach steady state is no more than 100 ms when a constant voltage is applied on it. Finally, the dynamic behavior of the actuator is further studied under changeable voltage. For the sine voltage, an obvious hysteresis appears at the beginning and gradually vanishes with the time growing. When applied to a periodic voltage such as square or sine, the motion of the actuator is also gradually cyclical and has the same time period.

Dimensionality and Molecular Packing Control of Covalent Organic Frameworks through Pendant Group Design

Tuning the dimensions and molecular packing geometry of crystalline organic frameworks and polymers represents an important challenge for reticular chemistry. Here we show that for extended structures made of 1,3,6,8-tetrakis(4-aminophenyl)pyrene (PyTTA) linked with methoxy group functionalized terephthalaldehyde aldehydes, simple substituents on the aldehyde linker can have profound structure directing effects due to noncovalent interactions. Specifically, reacting 2,3-dimethoxyterephthalaldehyde with PyTTA gives a 2D covalent organic framework with unique AA-inclined-AA stacking and bilayer pyrene motifs, whereas reacting 2,5-dimethoxyterephthalaldehyde with PyTTA gives a 1D crystalline polymer with AB stacking and isolated pyrene motifs. Both materials show high crystallinity, allowing for atomic resolution structure determination using three-dimensional electron diffraction, and the similarity of their fluorescence properties shows the electronic structures of pyrene-based extended structures mostly depends on the in-plane structures, which is supported by density functional theory calculations. These two pyrene-based extended structures also show different fluorescence responses to organic vapors due to different pore environments. The current work shows the potential of noncovalent interactions in the reticular design of functional organic materials.
