A Neural Relation Extraction Model for Distant Supervision in Counter-Terrorism Scenario

Natural language processing (NLP) is the best solution to extensive, unstructured, complex, and diverse network big data for counter-terrorism. Through the text analysis, it is the basis and the most critical step to quickly extract the relationship between the relevant entities pairs in terrorism. Relation extraction lays a foundation for constructing a knowledge graph (KG) of terrorism and provides technical support for intelligence analysis and prediction. This paper takes the distant-supervised relation extraction as the starting point, breaks the limitation of artificial data annotation. Combining the Bidirectional Encoder Representation from Transformers (BERT) pre-training model and the sentence-level attention over multiple instances, we proposed the relation extraction model named BERT-att. Experiments show that our model is more efficient and better than the current leading baseline model over each evaluative metrics. Our model applied to the construction of anti-terrorism knowledge map, it used in regional security risk assessment, terrorist event prediction and other scenarios.

Hydrothermal Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a Novel Supramolecular Compound [CuCl(4,4′-bipy)]_n

A novel supramolecular compound [CuCl(4,4ˊ-bipy)]n has been rationally designed and synthesized by hydrothermal method and the structure was characterized with elemental analysis,FT-IR spectrum and X-ray diffractometer.It crystallizes in the monoclinic,space group P2(1)/c,with a=0.37733(8) nm,b=1.2711(3) nm,c=1.1403(2) nm,β=94.15(3) °,V=0.54547(19) nm3 and Z = 4.The title compound contains the extended one-dimensional staircase chain n.In the packing structure,weaker intermolecular C-H…Cl hydrogen-bonded and π-π interactions are the most significant factors of controlling the novel supramolecular sheet fashion.

Progress in Chalcopyrite Semiconductor of Cadmium Germanium Arsenide

Cadmium germanium arsenide,CdGeAs_2,is a ternary chalcopyrite semiconductor known for having rather high nonlinear optical coefficients(236pm/V),making it attractive for CO_2-doubier.For a long time,conventional growth method yielded severely-crack due to anisotropy in thermal expansion along the a-and c-axes.CdGeAs_2 crystal has a strong absorption at 5.5μm which related to a native acceptor defect,the absorption can decrease the efficient of CdGeAs_2 frequency-doubling.This paper reviewed different methods of single crystal growth as well as absorption defect,and pointed out that doping with donor impurities are the main research field for single crystal growth at last.

Intermediates and transport phenomena in two‐temperature synthesis of ZnGeP₂

Abstract High quality semiconducting ternary compound ZnGeP 2 was synthesized by a modified two‐temperature technique using high purity elemental zinc, germanium and phosphorus as the starting materials. Transport phenomena of zinc and phosphorus vapors and the major reaction intermediates, taking place in ZnGeP 2 formation, were studied by interrupting the synthesis process using quenching technique as well as by adjusting the temperatures of cold and hot zones. The powder X‐ray diffraction analysis showed that the major reaction intermediates were ZnP 2 , Zn 3 P 2 , and GeP, which proportions were changed at the different temperature stages. ZnP 2 was formed in the temperature gradient region and ZnGeP 2 was formed in the hot zone when the temperature of the hot zone was higher than 900 °C. The 520‐1040 °C temperature profile was chosen for the ZnGeP 2 synthesis and charge amount per run reached 200 g. The powder X‐ray diffraction pattern of the synthesized ZnGeP 2 compound was in agreement with the standard pattern of ZnGeP 2 . These results demonstrated that the synthesized ZnGeP 2 compound was a single phase. (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
