An injection mould with side parting and core-pulling mechanism was developed based on UG software for moulding the top cover of a type of fan governor.The design flow of the injection mould using UG NX was presented and the key points in planning the parting line,side parting and core-pulling mechanism in which the shaped product was characterized by having lateral slots were discussed.
According to requirements of NC programming of high speed machining,the proper strategies were selected based on the rough and finish machining of high speed machining by CAM software,which can satisfy process conditions of high speed machining and ensure the machining quality.

The cladding layer on surface of Cr12 die steel was prepared by laser cladding using PHNi-60A,PHNi25WC-60A and Stellite6 alloy powders as cladding materials,respectively.Microstructure and properties of the cladding layers were examined by means of hardness test,wear test,SEM and XRD.The results show that metallurgy binding interface between the nickel-base alloy,cobalt-base alloy and Cr12 steel is obtained.Wear-resistance and hardness of the clad Cr12 steel are obviously improved.The maximum hardness is 1049HV0.2 at subsurface of the clad layer.The eutectic and dendrite microstructure with metallic and WC particles distributing in the inter-dendrites is observed for the cladding layers.
In accordance with the characteristics of 2-dimensional core pulling of product, the side parting surface and core pulling structure of mould was designed by means of comparison and analysis. A mould with an oblique guide pin scroll box structure was designed for the core pulling in two directions of a mould with two cavities. The results of production practice showed the design was reasonable, the numbers of the cavity were suitable, the parting surface was correct, the core pulling was stable and reliable, and the product quality was in account with the demands of design.
