Deep Learning based End-to-End Rolling Bearing Fault Diagnosis

Rolling bearings play an important part in rotating machinery. As they work in complex conditions, faults will occur sometimes. Therefore, it is necessary to detect the faults early. Traditional bearing fault diagnosis methods are often based on mechanism analysis and feature selection, and the process is relatively complicated. Deep learning methods, however, have the ability to extract and select features automatically, which greatly reduces the workload. In recent years, deep learning-based methods have been successfully used in many fields, such as computer vision, voice recognition, medical diagnosis. In this paper, the end-to-end fault methods based on deep learning are proposed. The Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network, Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) network and One-Dimensional Convolutional Neural Network (1D CNN) are used to build the deep learning network architecture respectively. A methodology is proposed for rolling bearing fault diagnosis, including data preprocessing, network modeling, training, validation and testing. Test bench data is used for fault diagnosis and the results show that deep learning based end-to-end methods are effective for the fault diagnosis of rolling bearings and that the model based on 1D CNN has the best performance.

City-county coordination in spatial planning: a case study in Wenzhou

Abstract County-level economy is a major driver of economic growth in Zhejiang Province. However, as it develops, it poses severe challenges to the comprehensive sustainable development of the cities, particularly Wenzhou. The comprehensive spatial planning of Wenzhou should incorporate an comprehensive and coordinated plan for the protection, development, utilization and restoration of the city’s territorial spaces to tackle the problems caused by decentralized development. To this end, we propose that the spatial planning of Wenzhou should focus on integrating the main center of the metropolitan area for coordinated allocation of resources. We have developed the planning strategy of “Strong Center, Strong Network, Strong Node and New Mechanism” for the main center of Wenzhou metropolitan area to help Wenzhou boost specialization and build further upon its areas of strength. These efforts help enhance the comprehensive capacity of Wenzhou through spatial integration.

Stability analysis for neutral stochastic linear system

This study is a further note on stability analysis for uncertain linear neutral stochastic system. Firstly, the stability of linear neutral stochastic system with mix delays is studied. By employing a new Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional and novel method to estimate the integral terms, the less conservative stability criteria are obtained. Compared with previous results, the novel method can sufficiently utilise more negative items information. Then, in virtue of the Schur complement and linear matrix inequality technique, the robust stability of the uncertain neutral stochastic system is derived, which have less conservatism. Finally, two numerical examples show that the authors’ results are effective and less conservative than other reports in the previous literature.

Two variants of the IIR spline adaptive filter for combating impulsive noise

It has been pointed out that the nonlinear spline adaptive filter (SAF) is appealing for modeling nonlinear systems with good performance and low computational burden. This paper proposes a normalized least M-estimate adaptive filtering algorithm based on infinite impulse respomse (IIR) spline adaptive filter (IIR-SAF-NLMM). By using a robust M-estimator as the cost function, the IIR-SAF-NLMM algorithm obtains robustness against non-Gaussian impulsive noise. In order to further improve the convergence rate, the set-membership framework is incorporated into the IIR-SAF-NLMM, leading to a new set-membership IIR-SAF-NLMM algorithm (IIR-SAF-SMNLMM). The proposed IIR-SAF-SMNLMM inherits the benefits of the set-membership framework and least-M estimate scheme and acquires the faster convergence rate and effective suppression of impulsive noise on the filter weight and control point adaptation. In addition, the computational burdens and convergence properties of the proposed algorithms are analyzed. Simulation results in the identification of the IIR-SAF nonlinear model show that the proposed algorithms offer the effectiveness in the absence of non-Gaussian impulsive noise and robustness in non-Gaussian impulsive noise environments.
