Optimal Deployment of Heterogeneous Nodes to Enhance Network Invulnerability

Wireless sensor networks (WSN) can be used in many fields. In wireless sensor networks, sensor nodes transmit data in multi hop mode. The large number of hops required by data transmission will lead to unbalanced energy consumption and large data transmission delay of the whole network, which greatly affects the invulnerability of the network. Therefore, an optimal deployment of heterogeneous nodes (ODHN) algorithm is proposed to enhance the invulnerability of the wireless sensor networks. The algorithm combines the advantages of DEEC (design of distributed energy efficient clustering) clustering algorithm and BAS (beetle antenna search) optimization algorithm to find the globally optimal deployment locations of heterogeneous nodes. Then, establish a shortcut to communicate with sink nodes through heterogeneous nodes. Besides, considering the practical deployment operation, we set the threshold of the mobile location of heterogeneous nodes, which greatly simplifies the deployment difficulty. Simulation results show that compared with traditional routing protocols, the proposed algorithm can make the network load more evenly, and effectively improve energy-utilization and the fault tolerance of the whole network, which can greatly improve the invulnerability of the wireless sensor networks.

Study on the altitude adaptability of single-stage and two-stage turbocharging systems for a heavy-duty diesel engine

It is important to understand the altitude adaptability of the turbocharging system for maximizing its potential in the power recovery of the diesel engine at high altitudes. This study investigated the influence of altitudes ranging from 0 to 4500 m on the performance of the single-stage and two-stage turbocharging systems in a heavy-duty diesel engine. The research was conducted using a six-cylinder, four-stroke, turbocharged, direct-injection diesel engine. An altitude simulation test bench was used to simulate altitudes of 0 to 4500 m by adjusting the temperature and pressure. According to the test results, the altitude adaptability of different turbocharging systems was analyzed based on turbine work and turbocharger efficiency. It was concluded that the high-pressure stage regulation in the two-stage turbocharging system (HRT) strengthens the regulation ability in turbine work, effectively regulating the boost pressure and maintaining high turbocharger efficiency at different altitudes. The HRT can satisfy the regulation ability for altitudes ranging from 0 to 4500 m. The low-pressure stage regulation in the two-stage turbocharging system (LRT) weakens the regulation ability in turbine work and relies on reduction of the turbocharger efficiency to regulate the boost pressure. The LRT ineffectively regulates the boost pressure at low altitudes, with altitude adaptability from 1500 to 4500 m. Due to the exhaust temperature limitation, the waste-gate in the single-stage turbocharging system (WG) is not suitable for large-span regulation to satisfy the performance of the diesel engine at altitudes above 3,000 m compared with the HRT and LRT.

Learning-Based Adaptive Fuzzy Output Feedback Control for MIMO Nonlinear Systems With Deception Attacks and Input Saturation

This article proposes an adaptive fuzzy dual-channel event-triggered output feedback control approach for a class of multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) systems with deception attacks and input saturation. Due to the consideration of two pivotal factors simultaneously, including deception attacks and input saturation, the existing methods are difficult to be directly applied. To this end, a novel fuzzy state observer and an auxiliary system are constructed to address unavailable impaired system states and input saturation, respectively. Furthermore, by constructing a new transformation of coordinate and employing adaptive fuzzy technique and single parameter learning approach, the sensor deception attacks, fuzzy weight and external disturbance are reconstructed online into linear composite uncertain terms with single parameter under the framework of backstepping and dynamic surface design. Additionally, the communication and computation burden is significantly reduced by using fewer single-parameter adaptive laws and dual-channel event-triggered strategy (DCETS). The proposed control method guarantees that all signals within the closed-loop system are bounded. Meanwhile, the Zeno behavior is avoided. Finally, a simulation example is provided to verify the availability of the presented approach.

An XGBoost-Based Vulnerability Analysis of Smart Grid Cascading Failures under Topology Attacks

In interconnected industrial control networks like smart grids, topology attacks on physical grids can lead to severe cascading failures and large-scale blackouts. Effective defense on vulnerable devices can significantly reduce the risk of cascading failures and improve overall system robustness. In this paper, we investigate the vulnerability analysis problem from a graph theoretical classification perspective. By calculating a node vulnerability vector composed of features based on complex network theory, node embedding, extended betweenness and power flow distribution, we propose a node vulnerability analysis method based on XGBoost classifier. A cascading failure simulation model based on DC power flow is used to simulate the smart grid behaviours under topology attacks and create the dataset for the XGBoost classifier. The effectiveness of the proposed XGBoost-based method with newly-introduced features is demonstrated by case studies.

Model Reference Adaptive Fuzzy Control for Uncertain Systems

Based on the supervisory control strategy presented by Wang Lixin in 1994 and the approximation capability of generalized multilinear fuzzy logic systems(GMFLS),a new adaptive fuzzy control scheme called model reference adaptive fuzzy control(MRAFC) for MIMO systems is proposed in this paper.The adaptive compensation term of optimal approximation error is adopted.By theoretical analysis,the closed-loop fuzzy control system is proved to be globally stable with tracking error converging to zero.Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach.

Chinese pediatric Tuina on children with acute diarrhea: study protocol for a randomized sham-controlled trial

Abstract Background Acute pediatric diarrhea is one of the most common causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide and seriously affects the health of children. Previous studies have shown that pediatric Tuina , a traditional Chinese medicine therapy, has potential therapeutic benefits for acute pediatric diarrhea. However, the evidence for its effectiveness is insufficient due to the lack of high-quality clinical studies. Our aim is to evaluate the efficacy of Chinese pediatric Tuina for children aged 0–6 years with acute diarrhea. Methods/design This study is a randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled trial. We will include 122 children with acute diarrhea from Dongguan Kanghua Hospital in Guangdong province, China. The patients will be allocated into either the pediatric Tuina group or the sham Tuina group in a 1:1 ratio. The treatment will last for 3 days followed by an 11-day follow-up period. Both groups will receive usual care. In addition, the experimental group will receive 15–25 min of Chinese pediatric Tuina , while the control group will receive 15–25 min of sham pediatric Tuina. Both groups will receive treatments once per day, for 3 consecutive days. Primary outcome measures are diarrhea days from baseline and diarrhea times on the third day. Secondary outcome measures are the global change rating and period of days when the stool character changes to normal. Safety assessments will be monitored during each visit. Discussion This clinical trial is designed to evaluate the efficacy of pediatric Tuina for children with acute diarrhea. We expect results to provide solid evidence and support for pediatric Tuina as an appropriate treatment for children with acute diarrhea. Trial registration ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT03005821 .
