Study of thermally evaporated Sb₂Se₃-based substrate-configured solar cell

Abstract Antimony selenide (Sb 2 Se 3 ) has emerged as a promising absorber material for thin film solar cell (TFSC) application. In this work, a (120) oriented substrate-configured Sb 2 Se 3 based TFSC has been fabricated using the thermally evaporated Sb 2 Se 3 thin films. Pre-synthesized bulk Sb 2 Se 3 was used as a source material and the films were subjected to post-deposition selenization. TFSCs were fabricated in a device configuration of Glass/Mo/Sb 2 Se 3 /CdS/ITO/Ag. It was found that there is a significant increment in the power conversion efficiency (PCE) with increased V oc and J sc in the devices, wherein the Sb 2 Se 3 absorber films were subjected to post-deposition selenization compared to the devices made with as-deposited films. TFSC with as grown Sb 2 Se 3 film was showing an efficiency of ∼ 1% with V oc ∼ 208 mV, J sc ∼16 mA cm −2 and fill factor (FF) ∼ 29.9%. The device with selenized Sb 2 Se 3 films showed a power conversion efficiency of 3.38% with V oc , J sc and FF values of 362 mV, 18.54 mA cm −2 and 50.39%, respectively. The increase in PCE for selenized films is attributed to better grain growth and suppression of selenium vacancy defects. Overall, the findings of this work demonstrate the potential prospects of Sb 2 Se 3 as an absorber material for TFSCs applications and suggest that post-deposition selenization plays a significant role in the enhancement of device efficiency. The obtained results are contributive in the understanding and development of low-cost Sb 2 Se 3 -based TFSCs.

MoSe₂/n‐GaN Heterojunction Induced High Photoconductive Gain for Low‐Noise Broadband Photodetection from Ultraviolet to Near‐Infrared Wavelengths

Abstract Heterojunction photodiodes comprising of layered metal chalcogenides and wide‐bandgap semiconductors are a promising candidate for broadband photodetection. In this work, nanolayered Molybdenum diselenide (MoSe 2 )/Gallium Nitride (GaN) based photodetector has been demonstrated from ultraviolet to near‐infrared range (300–1000 nm). The performance is investigated by conducting Kelvin probe force microscopy to measure the conduction band offset at the interface of the heterojunction. It is used to analyze the energy‐band diagrams to understand the current transport mechanism. The device exhibits a high photoconductive gain of 1.8 × 10 4 , responsivity of 5580 A W −1 , detectivity of 1.9 × 10 11 Jones and low noise equivalent power of 10 fW Hz −1/2 at 365 nm. Additionally, finite difference time domain simulations are performed for the MoSe 2 /n‐GaN heterostructure to authenticate the broadband photodetection spectrum. Therefore, the outcomes of this study validate the suitability of MoSe 2 /n‐GaN heterojunction devices for high responsivity and detectivity applications.

A Review on Smart Materials in Biomedical Applications: Current Trends and Future Challenges

Smart materials have been revolutionizing the field of biomedical engineering due to their unique properties and capabilities. They are able to respond to various external stimuli such as temperature, pH, light, and magnetic fields, among others. In this review, we will discuss the current trends and future challenges in the use of smart materials in biomedical applications. We will focus on the different types of smart materials and their properties, as well as their potential applications in drug delivery, tissue engineering, biosensors, and medical devices. We will also discuss the challenges and limitations associated with the use of smart materials, such as biocompatibility, stability, and scalability. Finally, we will provide an outlook on the future of smart materials in biomedical applications and the potential impact on healthcare.

A 32b CMOS microprocessor with on-chip instruction and data caching and memory management

Testing, verification, and diagnosis in the presence of unknowns

Improvement of the accuracy of error and fault diagnosis as well as ATPG for IP-based designs are important problems in industry. In this paper we address these problems when portions of the design may be unspecified. Two approaches to solve these problems have been presented: (1) solving Boolean satisfiability under unknown constraints, and (2) a network modification-based solution. Experimental results on constrained equivalence checking, enhancement of error diagnosis resolution for combinational circuits, and ATPG for IP-based designs have been presented on the ISCAS 85 benchmark and industrial circuits.

Effect ofSaccharomyces cerevisiaeandLactobacillus acidophilusas Probiotics on Performance of Barbari kids

A total of 18 weaned Barbari kids were randomly assigned to three different groups, with six animals in each group. Composition of the rations was as follows; T1 (Control); Basal ration (DCP-18%, TDN-70%), T2; Basal ration + probiotic (Lactobacillus acidophilus, 6×109 cfu/g) @ 2g/animal/day, T3; Basal ration + probiotic (Saccharomyces cerevisiae, 4 × 109 cfu/g) @ 2g/animal/day. The effect of feeding two types of probiotics to Barbari kids revealed significant difference (P<0.05) on body weight of kids fed with Saccharomyces cerevisiae (T3 group) as compared to Lactobacillus acidophilus fed (T2 group) and control group (T1). The average daily body weight gain was significantly (P<0.01) higher in T3 group followed by T2 and control group. The body measurements were non-significantly higher in T2 and T3 group as compared to control group (T1). Feed efficiency ratio of group T3 (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) 0.13±0.00 was higher than the group T2 (Lactobacillus acidophilus) 0.09±0.00 followed by T1 (basal ration) 0.05±0.00. Average daily body weight gain in Barbari kids was more in T3 group as compared to T2 group. No significant effect on dry matter intake was observed across the groups. Higher digestibility coefficient for dry matter, crude protein, ether extract, crude fibre and nitrogen free extract were observed in T3 group as compared to T2 and control group. It can be concluded that probiotic supplementation improves daily body weight gain in Barbari kids.
