[Progress of experimental studies on acupuncture treatment of ischemic cerebral injury with Jing (Well)-points].

Clinical practice has demonstrated that acupuncture of Jing (Well)-points is effective in the treatment of cerebral infarction, vascular dementia and other problems induced by acute or chronic cerebral ischemia. In recent years, abundant results from animal experiments of cerebral ischemic (CI) injury have preliminarily uncovered some underlying mechanisms of acupuncture of Jing points in reducing CI injury, including 1) scavenging active free radicals, 2) decreasing calcium overloading, 3) regulating inflammation-related cytokines expression, and 4) upregulating the expression of anti-apoptosis genes. However, further studies are needed because of the complexity of the development of ischemic cerebral injury.

Spatio-temporal prior based kinetic model in dynamic PET reconstruction

Based on Markov Random Fields (MRF) theory, Bayesian approaches have been accepted as effective solutions to overcome the ill-posed problems of image restoration and reconstruction. Traditionally, the knowledge in most of prior models comes from simply weighted differences between the pixel intensities within a small local neighborhood, so it can only provide limited prior information for regularization. A novel dynamic image reconstruction method for PET is proposed which uses a spatio-temporal prior that constrains not only neighborhood information but also voxel's behaviour in time to conform to 2-tissue compartmental model.

[EB virus-positive follicular lymphoma in lymph node: report of a case].

EB病毒阳性滤泡性淋巴瘤（follicular lymphoma, FL）是一种罕见的B细胞淋巴瘤，在同一级别的FL中，EB病毒阳性与EB病毒阴性的FL，在形态学和免疫表型上难以区分，EB病毒编码的小RNA（EBER）检测尤为重要。且大多数EB病毒阳性FL的患者更易进展为更高级别的FL或弥漫性大B细胞淋巴瘤。该文报道1例淋巴结EB病毒阳性FL。镜下形态、免疫组织化学染色及荧光原位杂交检测均符合FL，特殊之处在于EBER只表达于肿瘤性滤泡内的细胞。最终诊断为淋巴结EB病毒阳性的FL。.

[Professor ZHANG Qing-ping's experience in the treatment of vascular dementia with acupuncture and moxibustion].

In the aspects of the acupoint prescription, acupuncture techniques and typical cases, the characteristics and experience of professor ZHANG Qing-ping in the clinical treatment of vascular dementia with acupuncture and moxibustion were introduced. Vascular dementia is treated on the base of etiology, focusing on the brain as the root cause, with the reinforcing and the promoting as the dominant principle of acupuncture. The treatment is emphasized on tonifying the kidney to fill up marrow, strengthening the spleen to nourish the brain and promoting the collateral circulation to improve the intelligence. Concerning to the general situation of the disease, regulating mind stressed in treatment. In clinical practice, Baihui (GV 20) is the chief acupoint to benefit the brain. Yuan-source points and the eight influential points are predominated to tonify the functions of zangfu organs and fill up vessels. Moxibustion is adopted to resolve the stagnation and promote circulation in meridian as well as regulate qi and blood circulation. Specially, the moxibustion technique for resolving the stagnation and promoting circulation in meridian achieves the satisfactory therapeutic effects in clinical treatment.

A 44-Year-Old Man With Right Limb Convulsion and Cavitary Lung Lesion With Diffuse Interstitial Abnormalities

A 44-year-old man with a history of asthma presented with intermittent convulsion of the right limb, fever in the late afternoon, and decreased exercise tolerance over 2 months. Occasional productive cough, no hemoptysis, and weight loss of nearly 6 kg were observed during this period. Neither chemotherapy nor oral immunosuppressive drugs had been administered, and no exposure to toxic substances was known. He was a cook and had smoked approximately one pack of cigarettes per day for the past 20 years. The living environment was relatively humid. The patient presented to a local hospital, where the workup was notable for low-density shadows in the left parieto-occipital lobe and a cavity in the right upper lobe of the lung with bilateral diffuse interlobular septal thickening and multiple patchy ground-glass opacities. The brain and lung lesions were 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose avid on PET/CT scan. Bronchoscopy with BAL and transbronchial biopsy were nondiagnostic. While preparing for another diagnostic procedure, the patient gradually developed increasing dyspnea and more frequent convulsions with the progression of lesions on the follow-up chest CT scan. The patient was transferred to our hospital.

Epidemiological scenario of leprosy in a province in China: long delay in diagnosis and high rate of deformity.

Abstract Background: This ecological study aimed to analyze both the distribution and the characteristics of leprosy in an endemic province in the Chinese Northwest. Methods: The medical records of leprosy in the province of Shaanxi, China, 1998-2018 were collected from the leprosy management information system in China (LEPMIS). Epidemiological variables were analyzed in this study. Results: 477 new cases were diagnosed between 1998-2018 in this area. The average rate of annual detection was 0.070/100,000 population, and the average annual prevalence was 0.305/100,000 population. The mean age of new patients was 46.7 years, and the ratio of male to female was 2.5:1. There were 399 cases (83.6%) of multibacillary (MB) forms. 148 cases (31.0%) had grade 2 disability. The mean delay in diagnosis for new cases was 62.0 months. Conclusion: The epidemiological study showed that the characteristics of the new leprosy cases in our province were still long delay in diagnosis and high rate of deformity, which indicated the need of actions of stimulating early diagnosis and treatment, and strengthening the detection of leprosy in low prevalent areas.

Susceptibility of 1070 clinical isolates of Candida species to three antifungal agents

Objective To evaluate susceptibilities of Candida species to three antifungal agents. Methods The Candida species isolates were differentiated by CHROMagar and Vitek2 YST test kits.And the susceptibility testing was performed with broth microdilution method according to the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute(CLSI)M27-A2 reference method for broth antifungal susceptibility testing of yeasts. Results Of the 1070 isolates collected,Candida albicans was the most frequently isolated species(748,69.90%),followed by Candida glabrata and Candida tropicalis.Overall,87.8% of all Candida isolates were susceptible to fluconazole,99.5% to 5-fluorocytosine,and 40.3% to itraconazole. Conclusion All the Candida isolates are highly sensitive to 5-fluorocytosine.However,the resistant rate of all the Candida strains to itraconazole is high.
