Objective To investigate the clinical effect of root canal filling paste Vitapex on intractable apical periodontitis.Methods 58 cases with intractable apical periodontitis were treated by expanding tooth root canal and filling with paste Vitapex and gutta\|percha point.Results All cases were cured of through 6 months to 3 years clinical follow\|up survey. All sinuses in 19 cases complicated with sinus disappeared. Apical shadows in 38 cases disappeared and those in 20 cases reduced significantly. 16 patients felt the affected tooth floated, extended and chewing pain in the very day when their affected teeth were treated, and their symptoms spontaneously alleviated in 2 to 3 days. Conclusion Root canal filling paste Vitapex is a perfect filling material which was used to treat intractable apical periodontitis.
Diagnosis,treatment and prevention of infectious diseases are the most important parts of UN peacekeeping medical practice.Based on The Standard Operating Procedures(Medical) of UN Peacekeeping Mission(SOP Medical) and the standard operating procedures of infection department,and in view of UN peacekeeping medical practice and the actual conditions of the Chinese army,procedures were worked out to standardize the operating of the infection department of the(Chinese)Peacekeeping Second-class Hospital to insure efficient medical support to UN peacekeepers as required by SOP Medical,safety of medical workers and successful accomplishment of the peacekeeping mission.
