STABLE PHASE EQUILIBRIUM OF THE TERMARY SYSTEM K~+,Mg~(2+)∥B_4O_7~(2-)-H_2O 348K

An experimental investigation on phase equilibrium at 348 K in the ternary system K+,Mg2+∥B4O72——H2O was done by the isothermal dissolution equilibrium method.The solubilities and the physicochemical properties such as density,refractive index and pH value of each equilibrated solution were obtained experimentally.Based on the experimental data,the stable phase diagram of the ternary system was plotted.The phase diagram consists of one invariant point E two uni-variant curves AE,BE and two crystallization regions MgB4O7·9H2O(AECA) and K2B4O7·4H2O(BEDB).Point E saturated with salts MgB4O7·9H2O and K2B4O7·4H2O,and the mass fraction composition of the corresponding liquid phase is w(K2B4O7)=42.28 %,w(MgB4O7)=8.11%.Results indicate that this ternary system is of a simple-eutectie-type,no double salt or solid solution was formed.Salt K2B4O7 and MgB4O7 have a strong salting in effect on each other,thus the solubility of salt MgB4O7 and K2B4O7 obviously increased.The density and refractive index of the equilibrium liquid both increase with the increase of the mass fraction of K2B4O7 in solution.

Synthesis of Hydrotalcite Using Brucite as the Source of Magnesium

The hydrotalcite was synthesized using brucite as the source of magnesium by the method of coprecipitation. The effect of synthesis parameters, such as Mg2+ concentration of solution, crystallizing time and temperature on their crystal structure were studied. The surface morphology was characterized by SEM, and the structure was characterized by XRD. Characterization of hydrotalcite showed that the particle size of the hydrotalcite with high degree of crystallinity was 10.0～0.1μm, and the Mg2+ concentration of solution, crystallizing time and temperature influenced the crystal structure. The proper Mg2+ concentration was 0.12M, and the optimal crystallizing time and temperature were 8h and 80°C, respectively.

We demonstrate a flow-switching accelerator plugged into servers directly to accomplish low-latency data exchange between virtual machines for Passive-optical-network based data center network. The throughput reaches 32Gbps and latency varies from 389.0ns to 1230.6ns.

Quantitative Analysis of Complex Aluminum Electrolytes by X‐Ray Fluorescence

The future production of electrolytic aluminum will be characterized by low temperature, low carbon emissions, and environmental friendliness, which will result in a more complex electrolyte system. Real-time analysis of electrolytes can significantly enhance the efficiency of the electrolytic process. However, accurately analyzing the composition of complex aluminum electrolytes online has been a technical challenge. This research primarily focuses on determining the ingredient contents of complex aluminum electrolytes based on elemental concentrations measured using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) according to an applicable standard. Calibration curves were established based on 53 standard samples of complex aluminum electrolytes to establish relationships between XRF fluorescence intensity and real concentrations. Analysis conducted on industrial complex electrolytes confirms that these newly constructed curves effectively reduce relative errors to less than 3%. Additionally, a feasible solution is proposed for determining the cryolite ratio (CR) in aluminum electrolytes using XRF. Results demonstrate an average deviation as low as approximately 0.02, fully meeting industrial production requirements. This technique offers numerous benefits including rapid analysis, ease of use, and cost savings.

ANOMALOUS DISLOCATION INTERNAL FRICTION IN HIGH PURITY ALUMINIUM

The behavior of internal friction during strain ageing and amplitude-dependent effect behaved in high purity aluminium were studied. After specimen is twisted to a certain degree, internal friction exhibits anomalously amplitude dependent effect. This can be observed in a large temperature region but does not appear in completely annealed or elongated specimens. The way of twisting deformation of specimen can affect amplitude-dependent effect. As the purity is lower, the anomalously amplitude-dependent effect is not so easy to be observed. It is considered that the appearance of anomalously amplitude-dependent effect is attributed to the reason that deformation leads to high enough dislocation density and much smaller region allowed for the movement of dislocations. The increase of nternal friction during strain ageing at room temperature is suggested to be due to the dislocation slip aided by vacancy produced through deformation.

Stable Phase Equilibrium of Aqueous Quaternary System Li⁺, K⁺, Mg²⁺//Borate–H₂O at 348 K

The solubility values and physicochemical properties such as densities, refractive indices, and pH values of the equilibrium solution in the quaternary system Li+, K+, Mg2+//borate–H2O at 348 K were measured by isothermal dissolution method. The phase diagram, water content diagram, and the diagrams of the physicochemical properties versus composition were constructed using the measured data. Results show that this quaternary system at 348 K is of a simple type, no double salt or solid solution formed. The stable phase diagram of this quaternary system consists of one invariant point, three univariant curves, and three crystalline phase areas. The invariant point saturated with three salts corresponding to lithium tetraborate trihydrate (Li2B4O7·3H2O), potassium tetraborate tetrahydrate (K2B4O7·4H2O), and hungchaoite (MgB4O7·9H2O). The crystallization field of MgB4O7·9H2O is the maximum, meaning that the salt magnesium borate has the smallest solubility among the coexisting salts. Comparisons between the stable phase diagrams at 288 K and 348 K show that the crystallization zones of MgB4O7·9H2O decreased at 348 K, while the crystallization zones of K2B4O7·4H2O and Li2B4O7·3H2O both enlarged at 348 K. On the univariant curve CE, the water contents decrease with the increase of J(K2B4O7); the densities and refractive indices both increase with the increase of J(K2B4O7) and reach the maximum at invariant point E.
