Study on Aerodynamic Optimization Design Process of Multistage Axial Turbine

An aerodynamic optimization design process of multistage axial turbine is presented in this article: first, applying quasi-three dimensional (Q3D) design methods to conduct preliminary design and then adopting modern optimization design methods to implement multistage local optimization. Quasi-three dimensional (Q3D) design methods, which mainly refer to S2 flow surface direct problem calculation, adopt the S2 flow surface direct problem calculation program of Harbin Institute of Technology. Multistage local optimization adopts the software of Numeca/Design3D, which jointly adopts genetic algorithm and artificial neural network. The major principle of the methodology is that the successive design evaluation is performed by using an artificial neural network instead of a flow solver and the genetic algorithms may be used in an efficient way. Flow computation applies three-dimensional viscosity Navier?Stokes (N-S) equation solver. Such optimization process has three features: (ⅰ) local optimization based on aerodynamic performance of every cascade; (ⅱ) several times of optimizations being performed to every cascade; and (ⅲ) alternate use of coarse grid and fine grid. Such process was applied to optimize a three-stage axial turbine. During the optimization, blade shape and meridional channel were respectively optimized. Through optimization, the total efficiency increased 1.3% and total power increased 2.4% while total flow rate only slightly changed. Therefore, the total performance was improved and the design objective was achieved. The preliminary design makes use of quasi-three dimensional (Q3D) design methods to achieve most reasonable parameter distribution so as to preliminarily enhance total performance. Then total performance will be further improved by adopting multistage local optimization design. Thus the design objective will be successfully achieved without huge expenditure of manpower and calculation time. Therefore, such optimization design process may be efficiently applied to the aerodynamic design optimization of multistage axial turbine.

Does authoritarianism necessarily stifle creativity? The role of discipline-focused authoritarian leadership

A burgeoning body of research has shown that authoritarian leadership (AL) embodies the characteristics of "light" and "dark," meaning that it does not always have a negative impact on employees' creative activities. However, studies explaining this potential positive effect are insufficient. To extend the AL and creativity literature, we draw on self-determination theory and event system theory, and elicit discipline-focused AL and appointment event criticality to examine whether, when, and how authoritarian leaders affect employee creativity positively. With time-lagged data collected from 435 employees and their direct leaders in China, we found that discipline-focused AL has an indirect positive effect on employee creativity through creative self-efficacy. Additionally, appointment event criticality strengthens the positive relationship between discipline-focused AL and creative self-efficiency, and the indirect impact of discipline-focused AL on employee creativity through creative self-efficiency. The theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

A Process Study on Two-Stage Influence of Dual Authoritarian Leadership on Employee Creativity

This study aims to explore the mediating,and moderating effects of the two components of authoritarian leadership on employee creativity by qualitative research methods using data of interviews and archives.We found that: (1) There was two-stage influence of leadership on employee creativity, state of demand perception and state of coping strategy. (2) Dominance-focused authoritarian leadership and Displined-focsed authoritarian leadership were both related to creativity. Dominance-focused authoritarian leadership inhibit creativity by negative path, in contrast Displined-focsed authoritarian leadership promote creativity by positive path. (3) The criticality of three kind of event moderated the relationship between authoritarian leadership and employee creativity. The finding of two-stage effect extends our understanding the process of leadership influencing creativity. More importantly, we provided that three types of specific events the strength of which morderate the relation between authoritarian leadership and creatvity play a very important role.

When Authoritarian Leadership Fuels Employee Self-interested Voice: The Roles of Authoritarian Type

Drawing on uncertainty management theory, this research investigates whether different types of authoritarian leadership are associated with employees’ work alienation and their subsequent self-interested voice, and whether employees’ perceived overqualification moderates these relationships. We tested our hypotheses using multisource and two-wave data collected from 11 Chinese companies. Results showed that discipline-focused AL had a negative indirect effect on self-interested voice via work alienation, whereas dominance-focused AL had a positive indirect effect on self-interested voice via work alienation and this positive indirect effect are stronger for employees high in perceived overqualification. Through this study, we help inform managers of the different types of authoritarian leadership they can use and their impact on different employees’ work alienation and self-interested voice.

Classification-oriented hyperspectral and PolSAR images synergic processing

Classification is one of the most important applications in the field of remote sensing. How to improve the accuracy of classification is the critical topic that has long obsessed the researchers. In this paper, a fusion method based on a synergic use of hyperspectral data and Polarimetric SAR (PolSAR) data is presented. This method consists of two main parts, feature-level fusion and decision-level fusion. In feature-level, parallel feature combination strategy is introduced to classification of remote sensing images. Results of feature-level fusion are used as inputs of decision-level fusion based on fuzzy set theory. The final results are compared with processing of single level and single data set, and it shows that the synergic method proposed in this paper has a superior performance in joint classification of hyperspectral and polarimetric SAR data.
