Discipline competitions can have a positive impact on the learning potential of students, as well as on their skills and innovation abilities. They are particularly effective in cultivating the engineering practice abilities of applied undergraduate students, which is of vital significance. This paper takes the Internet of Things (IoT) engineering major as an example to explore ways to cultivate the independent innovative consciousness, thinking, and skills of students, as well as to improve the overall quality of students. Key aspects such as the practice system of disciplinary competition, practice management and organisation strategy as well as the practice project development system are thoroughly researched and discussed, aiming to provide experiences that can be used and referred to for the cultivation of engineering talents.
The high school students are often confronted with alternatives of complicated cultural ecological environments and multi-cultural values at the social transformations. The writer performs an investigation by a questionnaire and interviews over the high school students and teachers in Haikou. The result shows that one third of the students believe that the life in schools is monotonous, another one third having had confrontations once with teachers, and clashes occur more in poorer schools than in better schools. It is concluded thatthe clashes are mainly due to the unattractive management in schools, different alternatives of values of students and teachers, and utilitarianism in evaluations of the students.
The marketization of higher education is an important trend of reform in the world higher education of the late 20th century, and the reform in the Chinese higher education is no exception. However,in the process of marketization, higher education has been attaching overdue importance to its responsibilities of social services,as is evident in its overemphasis on the marketization and the accelerated expansion of higher education with the result of higher education being in a dilemma, grim situations of employment for college graduates, degradation of educational quality, etc. This paper ventures to reflect on the responsibilities and conduct of higher education in the market context from the angle of higher educational value. It is stressed that higher education should be liable to guide society in its marketization so as to bring into play the real aim of facilitating social progress on the part of higher education. Besides, some suggestions for fulfilling the task for higher education to guide society have also been advanced.
Abstract Smart power plant is to establish a modern energy power system to achieve safe, efficient, green, and low-carbon power generation. Its characteristics are that the production process can be independently optimized, the relevant systems can collect, analyze, judge, and plan their own behavior, and intelligently and dynamically optimize equipment configuration and its parameters. This paper focuses on the optimal recognition state of MFCC in smart power plants. In this paper, we propose that by changing the number of filters and the order of MFCC to view the expression effect of the final MFCC parameter, the evaluation index of the effect is “accuracy”, the evaluation index—accuracy in the neural network. In this paper, the network is built through a Python programming environment, and the comparative experiment is adopted to analyze the influence of each parameter on the speech information expression effect of MFCC parameters.
Abstract Background Endoscopic instrument segmentation is essential for ensuring the safety of robotic‐assisted spinal endoscopic surgeries. However, due to the narrow operative region, intricate surrounding tissues, and limited visibility, achieving instrument segmentation within the endoscopic view remains challenging. Purpose This work aims to devise a method to segment surgical instruments in endoscopic video. By designing an endoscopic image classification model, features of frames before and after the video are extracted to achieve continuous and precise segmentation of instruments in endoscopic videos. Methods Deep learning techniques serve as the algorithmic core for constructing the convolutional neural network proposed in this study. The method comprises dual stages: image classification and instrument segmentation. MobileViT is employed for image classification, enabling the extraction of key features of different instruments and generating classification results. DeepLabv3+ is utilized for instrument segmentation. By training on distinct instruments separately, corresponding model parameters are obtained. Lastly, a flag caching mechanism along with a blur detection module is designed to effectively utilize the image features in consecutive frames. By incorporating specific parameters into the segmentation model, better segmentation of surgical instruments can be achieved in endoscopic videos. Results The classification and segmentation models are evaluated on an endoscopic image dataset. In the dataset used for instrument segmentation, the training set consists of 7456 images, the validation set consists of 829 images, and the test set consists of 921 images. In the dataset used for image classification, the training set consists of 2400 images and the validation set consists of 600 images. The image classification model achieves an accuracy of 70% on the validation set. For the segmentation model, experiments are conducted on two common surgical instruments, and the mean Intersection over Union (mIoU) exceeds 98%. Furthermore, the proposed video segmentation method is tested using videos collected during surgeries, validating the effectiveness of the flag caching mechanism and blur detection module. Conclusions Experimental results on the dataset demonstrate that the dual‐stage video processing method excels in performing instrument segmentation tasks under endoscopic conditions. This advancement is significant for enhancing the intelligence level of robotic‐assisted spinal endoscopic surgeries.
Objective
To investigate the degradation characteristics of the large-scale brain functional networks during aging by functional magnetic resonance imaging measurement and explore its intrinsic mechanism.
Methods
40 healthy subjects including 20 elderly persons [mean aged(72.4±4.6)years] and 18 young persons [mean aged(23.9±1.8)years] were enrolled in this study. All subjects underwent functional MRI scanning at blood oxygenation level-dependent contrast resting state.Four canonical resting-state networks, including the default mode network(DMN), dorsal attention network(DAN), executive control network(ECN), salience network, and visual network, were extracted by the seed zone and double regression methods. The functional connectivities in these canonical networks were compared between the young and elderly persons.
Results
Compared with young persons, the elderly showed the distinct and disruptive alterations in the large-scale aging-related resting brain networks. The impairment of ECN was the most serious, followed by the impairment of DAN.The salience networks and DMN showed relatively limited functional connectivity disruption. The networks associated to higher-order brain functions were impaired, while the visual network, which served as a network related to low-order brain functions, had no significant change.
Conclusions
The aged brain in healthy subjects is characterized by organized change in networks, and the selective impairments of large-scale brain networks were more significant in the networks associated to higher-order brain functions as compared with the networks related to low-order brain functions.

The network information is going global, which helps teenagers expand their knowledge, but at the same time confronts them with the crisis of moral conduct corruption on Internet, which is popular but harmful from the perspective of sociology. In view of this, schools should shoulder the responsibility of imparting the splendid traditional Chinese culture, helping teenagers form the morals embodying the core socialist values and moulding their character on Internet, thus promoting the development and improvement of moral civilization in the network age,so that teenagers will grow healthily in the civilized cyber culture.
